watermelon flowlight

Watermelon flowlights are a special commemorative edition in memory of our friend and fellow flow artist Watermelon Dan, who was an inspiration to the worldwide flow arts community. Dan was a champion of the flow arts, who actively fostered community, hosting spinjams, teaching and performing. The watermelon flowlights recognizes Dan's contributions to advancing the artform.

All proceeds from these lights go towards seeding the Fund the Flow Arts non profit. For every watermelon light purchased, Flowtoys donates $12 to Fund the Flow Arts. You can order watermelon lights from this page or from any other flowlight-related product page.

The commemorative Watermelon light is distinguished by inscriptions on the circuit board:
“Burning Dan: 1974-2010,
carpe awesome, the Flow must go on”

Please note: Watermelon lights are G1 (first generation) flowlights. The most important difference between G1 and G2 lights is that G1 lights do not accept Li-ion batteries. Learn more about the difference.

Batteries: Each flowlight runs on 1 AAA (not included) at full brightness throughout battery life - does not dim. Please use only rechargeable NiMHs or high quality alkalines. Cheap alkalines will cause your light to last only a few minutes. We offer a nifty 4-bay charger that comes with 4 free quality rechargeable NiMH AAAs :)
